Health and healthcare are always at the forefront of people’s minds, especially during times like these. One healthcare facility, headquartered right here in Troy, recognized the obstacles that can get in the way of care and saw a need for change. Thus, SALTA Direct Primary Care was created.

Upon entering the facility, Mayor Baker and I were immediately welcomed by warm and inviting staff, all with big smiles. It didn’t feel like a normal clinic, it was more personal and hospitable. Kim Stephens, MSN, RN, CNOR, Director of Clinical Systems and Training at Salta was kind enough to give us a tour of the facility and all it offers its clients.
“Our goal is to ensure our clients are comfortable when they arrive for their appointments, no matter what it’s for. We’ve got healthy snacks and water for those who are getting bloodwork done. We also incorporate a lot of natural light, calming colors, and upbeat music to eliminate a lot of the stress a doctor’s visit can trigger,” said Stephens.
Salta’s Troy facility was clean, warm, and inviting. All facilities offer 24-hour direct access to doctors, one low monthly fee with no surprise billing, and even has the option of virtual appointments.
“Healthcare is a sizeable and critical part of Troy’s economy,” said Mayor Ethan Baker. “It’s amazing to see that you are completely revitalizing the idea of the healthcare industry. This facility has such a warm and friendly feeling for a healthcare facility.”
In addition to the physical care, Kim was excited to tell us about Salta’s Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART).
“Stress can be the trigger for a lot of chronic diseases,” Kim said. “Helping our clients deal with their stress, both in mind and body, is critical to our long-term goal of transforming healthcare.”
