Dr. John Blanchard is CEO and founder of SALTA Direct Primary Care, recognized as a national leader in the Direct Primary Care movement. In 2001, he established one of the first DPC practices in the country and the first in Michigan, pioneering a healthcare model focused on accessibility, affordability, and exceptional patient care.
Under Dr. Blanchard’s leadership, SALTA has become Michigan’s only advanced DPC network, driving the transformation from volume-based to value-based healthcare. His vision centers on re-establishing the fundamental doctor-patient relationship as the foundation of quality care.
Dr. Blanchard is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and completed his residency training at William Beaumont Hospital, where he served as chief resident. He graduated with clinical honors from Wayne State University School of Medicine and earned his undergraduate degree in Physiology from Michigan State University.
Outside of healthcare, Dr. Blanchard enjoys hiking, hunting, and fishing with his two sons, and traveling with his wife of 28 years.
